Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge
Top 10 Finishers
The inaugural Breeders' Cup Betting Challenge will be held at Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita Park on Friday, November 6 and Saturday, November 7. This is your chance to take on the top players in this real money Handicapping Tournament. The buy-in will be $10,000. Of the initial $10,000 bankroll, $2,500 is applied towards the prize money pool and $7,500 is for betting. At the conclusion of the tournament, any dollar amount remaining in the bankroll – whether it grows to $30,000 or falls to $100 – remains the property of the player. This is a contest of skill to determine the "Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge” champion.
The BC Betting Challenge will also offer players the opportunity to qualify for the 2010 DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Championship. The top six players will be awarded spots in the NHC, to be held at the Red Rocks Casino in Las Vegas on January 29-30, 2010. Each NHC qualifier will also earn $1,000 towards their hotel/travel expenses for Las Vegas. The event is also part of the NHC Tour and contestants will earn Tour points.
The event will be part of the Breeders’ Cup Simulcast Show, which is broadcast in over 20 countries and at over 1,500 wagering outlets in North America. ESPN will highlight coverage during their Friday and Saturday telecasts. We will also provide players with a number of additional benefits including: ticket for the two-day Championships; a private, players-only room on-track with buffet each day; press conferences, hospitality rooms; reduced hotel rates; Steuben trophy and other items.
A non-refundable deposit for $500 is required to confirm your spot in the Challenge. The $500 deposit will be credited as part of your bankroll. In order to conform with California regulatory requirements, the player limit has been revised and only 80 entries will be allowed in this contest. With only 80 entries available, it is recommended to send your deposit early. The remainder of the $10,000 bankroll is due by November 1, 2009. Again the first 80 deposits received by Oak Tree will determine who plays in the Tournament. A maximum of two entries per person is allowed.
There is a guaranteed prize pool of $225,000 irrespective of the number of contest participants. 100% of the entry fees will be paid out as prizes plus an additional $25,000 provided by the Breeders’ Cup. Should the contest draw less than 80 entrants, the prize pool is still guaranteed and will remain at $225,000:
