$300,000 Cal-bred Tops Barretts Sale

DEL MAR, Calif. (Aug. 29, 2017) – A California-bred son of Bodemeister sold for $300,000 to top Tuesday’s Barretts August Select Yearling Sale.

The sale topper is out of the stakes-winning Jump Start mare North Freeway, was bred by Thomas Bachman, consigned by Harris Farms, agent, for Fairview and was purchased by Jay Em Ess Stable.

The next-highest purchase was an Unusual Heat filly out of the Johannesburg mare Dancing Jo, was consigned by Harris Farms, agent for breeder M. Auerbach and purchased for $200,000 by McMahon and Hill-Radley Equine.

The other six-figure sale was a California-bred colt by Mucho Macho Man, out of the City Zip mare Longing, was bred by Richard Barton Enterprises, consigned by McCarthy Bloodstock, agent, and purchased for $120,000 by Blinkers On Racing Stable.
